keeping GLOBAL ForwardAssociationLevel in autoroute

  • Hi,

I have observed that when forwarding a series of studies to a different server using export with the ForwardAssociationLevel setting other than IMAGE, multiple images are sent in 1 association. However, when several studies are queued the second set of series or study are sent one at a time as if the association level reverted back to its default which is IMAGE. All subsequent studies are sent one image one association at a time.

I have tried other values but the same behavior happens. A restart solves it but the server repeats the same behaviour after the first study has been sent. A backlog of images, waiting to be forwarded, are pilling up because of this.

In a GLOBAL association level, the images are saved locally then forwarded this to the intended server. Compared to the saved images the forwarded images appear to lag by 1 to 4 images when > 200 images are sent probably more when > 2000. At this time a second study arrives before export finishes its first set. Is this the reason for export behavior to revert back to IMAGE setting? Any remedy? Have tried 1413a with same result.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the bug report. I will have to look into this later. Sounds like a fairly complex bug. You might try the new 1.4.13alpha commands:

    forward patient to AE
    forward study to AE
    forward series to AE
forward patient compressed as XX to AE
    etc

These wait for 10 minutes and then forward whatever is available on the level as requested. These options are not in 1.4.12c

Is my dicom.ini file setting correct?

  • hi,

Got hold of 1413beta and the system is working fine. I have not observed
autoroute reverting to image mode while sending files. I will look at the log files after several days of operation.

    thanks

  • Have been testing 1413beta for sometime now. There are some complains that the server is slowing down.

using 1 exportconverter with "forward study to AE"

Initial observation is CPU usage up 90 to 100% after all images have been forwarded and stay in this state for a longer period of time than before. This is at least 3 minutes while doing nothing. A kill restart corrects the problem. Using native libmysql.

  • Hi AJG,

You found a bug there: I see it too. While a task is waiting to be processed (10 minutes after queueing first image to all all images to come in from the source) dgate.exe gives a high CPU load. Sorry about that, a missing Sleep() call. Will be fixed in next release.
