Dicom server 1.4.16(k) released !

  • Thanks for the reply.

Late last night I got brave and tried it. It worked perfectly. There were a number of other things I didn't understand from the 'Conquest on Linux' document. I've always run on Windows boxes before. But given enough time and coffee I finally tumbled to the fact that there need to be two dgate instances, one running as a standard daemon, and one running from cgi-bin, each with its own (appropriate) dicom.ini and copy of dicom.sql. I did not get that at first.

Some of us are slowing with age.

  • Hi Marcel,
Is there anyway to query by Modality In the web interface? if not, I suggest to add it to the wish list.

also I tried this method to Automatically Resize the web viewer to full screen(87 %), by modifying the size line in the dicom.ini located in the root directories of the web server to

    [webdefaults]
    size = 87%25%25

it is perfect in both seriesviewer & serversideviewer, but in the sliceviewer it is not resolving the size correctly and affect the image size. I suggest to add it also to the wish list.

    Wish list:
1-query by Modality In the web interface
2-the web viewer can Accept the size in percentage.

    edit:

I have done the query by Modality, you can test it in that link

  • Hello Marcel,

Who cares about DICOM compliance :D - NKI compression isn't either, or am I mistaken?
It would add a little more security to J2K compression :-).

BTW: Can you sent me a PN when you fixed the nightly move bug, I would like to test the new verson then, it woul easy up my configuration a lot.
    thx

  • See bug list and or file headers. By the way, for linux start from 1.4.16b.

Edit: These are the updates in 1.4.16c:

    Bugs:
    10) dsize and size are not implemented for the serversideviewer, only for loose slices. Fixed in 1.4.16c
    15) multiplex - connection terminated with very high load from 10-parallel forwarder. This failure has to do with reading dgatesop.lst. Added additional debug log info in 1.4.16c, but not fixed yet.
    23) archiving commands (nightlymove) such as dgate -au crash the server. Fixed in 1.4.16c

    Wish list:
    11) allow creation of zip files from the web interface. In 1.4.16c
    18 ) handle ' *' query correctly. In 1.4.16c
    20) lua endassociation entry; also lua clienterror. In 1.4.16c.
    22) Allow RejectedImageConverter to overrule that an error message is sent back and/or retry entering. Added retry command in 1.4.16c

  • Another (wish), or idea. Maybe others might find it usefull too.

    For nightly move:
    - make it possible to determine start time
    - make its resources used dependend on server activity, for example make it pause when server is been under load, then resume when idle?

  • Hi Marcel.

When i read about the wish list #11 (to get a .zip study from the web interface) I downloaded and immediately tested your new release in progress.
The feature works great but I'm asking if there is the way to "enhance" It.

The Dicom study is done by zipping directly the files archived inside the dicom server but this means that the image format is the original used by Conquest.
If Conquest is set-up to use NKI compression the result is a series of .V2 files that needs to be "translated" by a local conquest run by the user.
There is a way to specify the image format in order to have the study ready to be used by the user who requested it ?

The best solution is to let the web user to specify the image format output (un, as, jk, j4,.....) or otherway the simplest way is to uncompress the images to "un" before making the .zip archive in order to have full compatibility.

This would be a very useful feature for me and I hope to others Conquest users.

Thanks in advance for reading this.

    Davide.

  • Hi,

if there is a script, every image will be processed and converted to DCM. But I believe that code, hardcoded does not pass a script. If you are on linux, you can modify that yourself. Are you?

    Marcel

  • Hi Marcel.

Unfortunately I'm a Windows user so I don't think to be able to do this.
Don't worry, this is a wish only so there is no need to make changes to the code.

Actually I can get the study in my desired format by doing some steps like:
    - getting the study from the web by using your new feature
    - importing the .v2 study inside a conquest server ran locally in my PC
    - using K-pacs to query locally the server and get the study in a uncompressed format then
    - using K-pacs to export the study as CD but saving the project only to obtain the images uncompressed inside a folder.

This is a little complicated but It works :-)

    Thanks for your attention.

    Davide.

  • Marcel,

We installed Dicom server 1.4.16 and there are no problems sending DICOM files to that server.
However the way system is used now, it has few Dicom AE (namely MEDIS) who pull files from the Conquest Server.
When the data is pulled we are getting following error, after which the server stops running.
Do you have any solutions for that?

    Thanks you,
    Elizabeth
