Send issue with new scanner data (Siemens Skyra)

To All,
I'm currently attempting to get files from our new scanner transferring through a conquest server but am having little luck. We have an older 'Allegra' scanner from Siemens that works fantastically without a hitch however we are installing a new 'Skyra' machine which is having trouble contacting the conquest server.

To test I've also setup a K-PACS workstation on my desktop with a few files from both the Allegra and Skyra systems. Allegra files transfer without a problem, however I get the following attempting to transfer Skyra files:

The above is all we get out of KPacs with the process log set to debug and 'log dicom network connections'.

The conquest server (at debuglevel set to 10) doesn't even indicate that it's been communicated with, however a TCPDump of the servers network ports indicated it is indeed communicating. I'm currently running the RC2 version of conquest, I can't get the RC3 to compile presently. It's running on a CentOS 5.x 64-bit server.

The skyra workstation does report an error when transferring stating the 'dicom service request is not acceptable from network node', this error is not seen on the alegra or with the skyra connecting to our ancient CTN server (which we are trying to replace with conquest) so we aren't sure what exactly is causing this response.

I have been told that the skyra uses a new private Siemens header, not the one used by the previous Allegra models but I'm not sure why this would matter at all. I'd be happy to provide any other information or a few files for comparison if it will help.

Hi,

Edit: you said that you raised the debuglevel. Try it again with: dgate --debuglog:on; dgate --debuglevel:4. It seems to me that there is a network config issue. To test that the debuglevel works, open a telnet connection to conquest and type to letters. It should at least report that it is being connected to. This is what I get:

I've done as you stated and you do indeed see some indications of life when you telnet into the system. I'm including the results of a few tests below. I first enabled the debug logging as requested, then set the log level to 4, then reset it to 10 just to see what would happen. You indeed see some reaction (thou there's a discrepancy between what's logged and what's put out to the console when running dgate -v -^logname.log). I've also included as an attachment the K-PAC log indicating what I tried this morning.

Hi,

OK debug logging is up. But still there is no reaction whatever when you connect from skyra? That indicates you indeed have no network between skyra and conquest.

... scratch all of the below, this was what I was going to post but it began to work just before I hit submit! We've discovered the procedure for getting the new system to talk to new storage devices, conquest is now working beautifully. We had to set the system up, do a 'verify' on the connection and then restart the console and router at the scanner site. After that it receives images from the new scanner without an issue (instead of handshaking and then refusing to work) and with an additional benefit of being considerably faster than our old solution. Thanks for the help and sorry for all the trouble.

However the only thing that shows up when you hit 'send data' after that verify from the console is a handshake in the the tcpdump. There's nothing in the dgate logs to indicate this communication ever happened. The skyra console returns immediately indicating that the target is unacceptable.

I am having a similar error, with my TRIO.. but it only happens with DTI data and only one file in the set:
EP2d-diff.TENSOR etc..

If I try to do DICOM transfer ... the syngo head says immediately:

"the required dicom server is not acceptable by remote node"

and the transfer is terminated.

Is this the same problem? Or a variant?

Hi Steve,

this is likely because the sopclass is not known by conquest. You need to add it to dgatesop.lst.

I tried adding Sopclass to the dgatesop.lst as a single line entry?
Didn't seem to work..

I notice there are two other possible lists:
dgatesop.lst.withjpg
dgatesop.lst.nojpg

Perhaps I need to add the Sopclass entry to these as well?

Or the entry has a format, I am unaware of?

Add a line between other sops like:

ArbitraryName 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.4 sop

where the UID (1.2.....) is the sopclassuid of the refused object.

dgatesop.lst is used, the other ones are copied into dgatesop.lst on install. You do have to restart the server.

Hi Steve,

in the DICOM conformance statement of the scanner, on the internet, or in the header of such an image if you can receive it with other means. If you have an image on disk, you can load it with drag and drop into conquest to inspect the header.

Ok, I looked at the header of the following file:

ASICHLAB_DBD-04_13_01_07-14_32_03-STD-1_3_12_2_1107_5_2_32_35450/BENASICH_MAKI_20130107_144651_453000/EP2D_DIFF_20_TENSOR_0013

and when opening it I get the error "cannot decode dicom header".... so
this explains why it won't transfer.. its not a proper dicom file.. and yet it seems to be
properly acquired as with a DTI protocol.

Hmm. So not clear how to debug this.

It results from a DTI protocol on the SYNGO Head.. came from the TRIO library...
it is part of a sequence of 5 or 6 files that are acquired from the scanner ..

At first I thought the DTI acquisition failed and this file was just incomplete, but I see
no evidence of that.

any tests or hypotheses appreciated.

Hi Steve,

if you pick it up from the scanner there is no guarantee that it is truly dicom. Or there may be private sequences in there that mess up the reader.
