How to delete individual images within a study

  • I can't seem to find a way to delete single or multiple images from a study. When we do an ultrasound exam we typically show the patient the baby at the end and print a few pictures for them. If we don't remember to delete these images from the ultrasound machines hard drive before we create the CD that ends up being loaded into K-Pacs, we inadvertently load the unwanted images along with the data. Is there a feature in the free version of K-pacs that will allow me to delete some of the images within an exam that is already in the viewer?

  • You can delete individual DICOM objects by opening a study down to image level in the study table (use the "+" icon). Then right-click an item you wish to delete. A sub-menu opens that contains an option to delete the selection from the imagebox. Select that option and the marked item will be deleted. You can do so individually for each item you wish to remove.

ATTENTION: Your images may be multi-frame objects, meaning that one object has not only one image but several images (= frames). The method above only allows the deletion of an entire object. There is no way to remove only individual frames from a multi-frame object.
