Add image files to the server?

  • Hi,

I was asked to setup a PACS server but this is all new to me.
I succesfully installed the Conquest server on linux and I can look at the example data.

But how do I add new data?
I got an example cd with dicom data (.dcm files), but how do I transfer this to the server?
Do I need client software like K-Pacs?
Is there a way to simply copy the files in a directory on the server?

Sorry for the noob questions
    Many tnx

    Kind regards,
    Yves

Forgive me my noobity, but which windows GUI are we talking about?
I installed it on a linux server (without GUI).
Is there a windows client available to talk to the server?

    Kind regards,
    Many tnx

EDIT: Ok, starting to see some light here. I installed osirix on a macbook and I'm able to push/receive images to/from the server.
I guess that's the way to get these things done?

  • Hi Marcel,

    Quick question...

For a brand new linux installation:

If you have a large amount of studies, can you copy them to the linux conquest MAG0 and then issue a regenerate DB command? Would this have any performance benefits vs transfer from another AE or the dgate --addimagefile:
    command?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Both methods will work. The addimage file method will create a configurable directory structure with the images and can re or decompress, while in the other method the images will be read from where you put them. The regen method is off course faster.
