C-FIND query to K-PACS fails

    I am trying to query K-PACS from an eFilm computer but get a connection error. How can I query the K-PACS data base and pull from it? What does the file FINDSCU.EXE do?

    K-PACS does not support Query/Retrieve services as SCP (server). Therefore you cannot pull data from another modality (like EFILM). You can only push the data from the K-PACS. The findscu is a "client" tool that allows K-PACS to query other modalities that do support query/retrieve as SCP.

    You can query another DICOM station with the help of iQ-VIEW / K-PACS and retrieve images from that station. However, you cannot query another iQ-VIEW / K-PACS and then retrieve images from it as iQ-VIEW / K-PACS do not provide Q/R SCP services.

    This sounds like a configuration issue. Please make sure that the iQ-VIEW/K-PACS is correctly configured within the ConQuest (AE title, port and IP) and also that the ConQuest is configured correctly in iQ-VIEW (AE title, port and IP). Further make sure that the ports are not blocked (e.g. by firewall) or used by another application, that both iQ-VIEW/K-PACS and the ConQuest servers are running and that every DICOM station in your network has its own correct AE title (no multiple use of the same AE title).


    Then check the DICOM transfer again. If there are still errors, check the logs on both ends to see what the error is.
