Recommendation

  • We are using Selenia CAD and we want to push all the images to our PACS. What would you recommend to use?

We try KPACS and it's pretty good except that it won't push SR Modality over to our PACS.

    Thanks!!

  • Dear dlu

Could you give a few further details? Why can't you just send your images and reports from the modality directly to the PACS (via DICOM transmission)? Why do you need a step in between and what does this step have to achieve?

If you can be a bit more specific, we may be able to recommend you an appropriate solution out of our vast product portfolio.

  • We have a mobile van that uses the Selenia CAD and it is being stored on the CAD Workstation on the Van. Once we are back at our base we push all the images to PACS that's what KPACS come in however it seem like KPACS does not support SR images. Thank you!

  • Dear dlu

Thanks for the additional details. In general, you have different options depending on what exactly you need:

      - If possible and if supported by the Selenia CAD / CAD workstation you could connect them to the network in which your PACS is running and initiate a DICOM Store to send the images that were created on the road directly to your PACS. The images and CAD objects would then be available there and could further be distributed to reading stations.

      - If there is the option to send the images via DICOM from the Selenia CAD / CAD workstation, but you need some routing device in between, e.g. for compressing/uncompressing the images or to send the images from one network to the one where your PACS is running or even from the remote location where your van is located when acquiring the images, then our iQ-ROUTER may help.

      - If there is no option to directly send the images to the PACS from the Selenia CAD / CAD workstation but you have to import the images from a directory on your hard disk, then you might want to use our software DICOMReader. With it you can scan any portable media or directories for DICOM files and then automatically send them via DICOM to a pre-defined station, such as your PACS.

I hope one of these solutions will meet your requirements.
