Conquest on Red Hat En3???????

  • I am totally new to Conquest but really would like to use it recently, now firstly try on my desktop.

    I have a combine Win XP/Red Hat 3 on my computer and wish to install both version of Conquest, seems things are fine in XP but met some problem in the Red Hat. I could not get enough instruction in the inuxmanual.pdf.

    The cgi-bin folder of Red Hat is not under /usr/lib/ but under /usr/lib/cups so before running I edited the maklinux file to change the copy destination.

    But during running maklinux I still got some error message like:

    filepdu.cxx:201:32: warning: multi-character character constant
    filepdu.cxx:211:41: warning: multi-character character constant

    /tmp/ccKxy2e4.o(.text+0x7f492): In function `NamedPipe::Create()':
    : warning: fattach is not implemented and will always fail

    Can anyone tell me what these mean and what I should do, I haven't install mysql for linux so should I do it before?

    Many thanks

  • Hi,

    These warnings are entirely normal and do not affect system operation. The multibyte constant is used a lot in the core library and does not need changing (byte order is checked). The last warnign concerns non-used code (for pipes).

  • Hi,

    What do you mean with "halted"?If the app crashes run it from gdb to see where the offending code is. You do have a 32 bit system? If it is 64 bit, then you need to edit the make script as described in linuxmanual.pdf.

    Sorry, there are no more manuals as included with the release: linuxmanual.pdf for installation, and windowsmanual.pdf as reference for the ini files.
