transfer of CT or MR studies is slow

It seems when we attempt to transfer ct or mr studies the process is really slow. our machines show images are transferred one at a time and seem to take 10 minutes or so to transfer on study. We are on a gig network and I am retrieving the images from our pacs to the local IQview database and then I transfer the images to either our ct or MR machine. Retrieving from PACS is extremly quick.

iQ-View/K-PACS's Dicom-send procedure opens an association for every single image. This behavior can lead to a slow down with pacs systems that timeconsumingly check for certain database entries when an association was opened.

The next version will include an option to send multiple images in a single association. This will be a "beta" state option because it is not entirely tested yet but it might speed up connection a lot.

Another workaround that you can try is to set the option UseDCMTKStore to 1 in the iQ-View Ini file. This will force iQ-View to use another DICOM implementation (DCMTK from OFFIS) that already supports sending multiple files in one association.
