Disk Space problem

  • Hello,

We are now experiencing a storage problem with our K-PACS server.

    Storage Device: SUN StorEdge 3511
Total Storage Size: 1.35TB (Actual Size) 3.7 TB (Raw Size)
    Remaining Storage Size: 1.5GB

What we want to do is transfer all the previous data to another logical drive so that we may free up some space. Will this approach cause the system to have problems on data retrieval or will the system still recognize the data transferred to another drive?

This is an urgent issue. We would like to ask for steps to approach this problem.

  • Now we no longer have disk space available.... please help.. urgent... we are new to this, and we don't have time to skim over our notes... we need someone to lead us to the solution right away...

    thanks a lot

  • Well, this issue can not easily be solved.
K-PACS database is a simple cvs database and does not support disc spanning. The only solution for you would be to upgrade your hard discs or move the complete database to another storage like a SAN.

You can point the server to another image storage path (imagebox) with opening the "server administration tool" and changing the imagebox path here. Don't forget to stop and re-start the server. Now all new image will be retrieved to this new folder.
