How to connect K-PACS to Ultrasound Device via DICOM

  • Greetings All,

I'm trying to connect K-PACS to an Ultrasound device for the first time, however the Ultrasound device still doesn't recognize the K-Pacs Server (or the other way round? ).I have pinged the Ultrasound device from the computer with K-PACS,the Ultrasound device is active. And vice versa, the Ultrasound device passes DICOM Connection Verification with the same settings.

    1. On the Ultrasound Device DICOM Preset set up, The Storage Server's location is the location of the K-PACS Server, and Worklist Server is the location of the K-PACS server also.

    2. From the Ultrasound Device Manufacturer's DICOM conformance Statement - The Ultrasound device does not support SCP-Query/Retrieve,SCP-Workflow Management nor SCP-Print Management. It does however support SCU -Image Storage and SCP - Storage, according to the device conformance statement,(SCU=User of Service and SCP=Provider of service)

    What could be the solution?

    Thanks,

    Eng. Adm

  • If the configuration is correct, you should be able to send images from your US device to the K-PACS station. If this is what you are trying to do and it doesn't work, you should check:

    - that the DICOM AE title, IP address and port of K-PACS are correctly added to the DICOM configuration of the US device
    - that the DICOM AE title, IP address and port of the US device are correctly added to the DICOM configuration of K-PACS
    - that no firewall or anti-virus program blocks the communication between the two
    - that the port on which the K-PACS server runs is available and not blocked by another application

Note, that it is not possible to send queries either from K-PACS to the US device or vice versa.
