Modality worklist problem

We plan on using the IQ-View to download and import outside CD's into our PACS.
First, we log the patient into our RIS, use the modality worklist on the IQ-View, and send the study to PACS.
The problem is the outside CD that is going into our PACS may have a Study date of 1/1/1003(for example) and when we use the modality worklist, it put the study date that is was logged into the RIS into the DICOM header of the study.
So the doctor looking at the study on PACS could think the study was done today, and not 4 years ago.
When using modality worklist on IQ-View, is there a way to not have it over-write the Study date on the study being imported?
