    Dear skthom

No, such a function is not available in K-PACS. Usually, you won't know what kind of pixel spacing you have with non-DICOM images that you import. The only option is to calibrate such images later in the viewer. This is possible in iQ-VIEW (not K-PACS). If you have a marker of known size on such an image, you can use this marker to calibrate this image and iQ-VIEW will calculate all distance measurements based on this calibration. With the PRO version of iQ-VIEW you would even be able to store these changes as a presentation state object (PR).

Feel free to try out iQ-VIEW, our diagnostic workstation, which comes with a lot more features and also medical device certification, such as CE and FDA 510(k) among others.

    I hope this helps.

    Dear gbaarda

Neither K-PACS nor iQ-VIEW support query/retrieve as SCP (service class provider). They do not accept queries from other DICOM nodes and return requested data. If you are looking for a PACS, feel free to try out our software iQ-WEBX (http://image-systems.biz/en/pr…ver-software/iq-webx.html). iQ-WEB, with or without its own DICOM image viewing module (iQ-X), can provide you with a central storage archive and image distribution, including query/retrieve.

    Dear chadd

In that case you might have run into a bug that was observed in iQ-VIEW 2.6.0 and which is documented in our feature and bug tracking system MANTIS (see http://mantis.image-systems.biz/view.php?id=1262). It happens when the patient list is not correctly closed (using the switch), but was just moved to the left with the mouse.

This bug has already been fixed since iQ-VIEW version 2.7.0. If you are interested in upgrading your iQ-VIEW to the current version (2.8.0), please contact your reseller before doing so to discuss the procedure and potential upgrade fees.

To fix the behavior in the current version, please follow the procedure outlined in the MANTIS issue:

      - Close iQ-VIEW.
      - Browse to the iQ-VIEW installation directory in the Windows Explorer.
      - Open the file “iQ-VIEW.ini” and look for the following entries:

      PatientPanelWidth=
      PatientPanelExpanded=

      - Delete the values stored after the equal sign (“=”).
      - Then save the changes and restart the application.

The issue should be solved now.

    Dear Stephan

Thank you for the screenshot. I was talking about your archive's DICOM settings, though. Have you added K-PACS (AE title, IP address and port) to the DICOM AE list of your archive so that the archive "knows" where to send the images?

    Kind regards
    Sabine

    Dear Stephan

The log snippet you posted contained an error coming from your connected archive (AE title "ACVR"). It says "Unknown move destination:K-Pacs". Looks like you might have forgotten to enter your K-PACS station as DICOM node in the DICOM settings of your archive or you have entered incorrect information. I would suggest that you check the settings and correct them.

The log file of the archive might also be of help in sorting out the issue.

    Dear luner1994

The DICOM attribute that you are referring to is a DICOM communication attribute stating a communication error. It is not an attribute that you will find in the DICOM information of an image. The error seems to come from the station from which you have tried moving images to your PACS server. Check the log files of the station that produced the error. This may give you additional information on why it is not able to send the images. If that does not help, we suggest that you contact the technical support of that device.

Check the file "DICOM.txt", which is stored in the iQ-VIEW/K-PACS installation folder, for the new entry you made in the application's "DICOM settings". If the entry is not stored there you may want to check if you have sufficient user permissions to write in the Program Files folder.

    Dear dlu

Reading in a high number of DICOM objects will take a while as they need to be registered in the database file as well as stored in the local imagebox. This is nothing that needs fixing.

However, you may want to consider professional tools that are specialized in reading in DICOM data and sending it directly to a remote DICOM station such as a PACS. Take a look at the DICOMReader software (http://www.dicomreader.com/). It could prove really helpful in your case.

    Dear dlu

The best way would probably be to set up DICOM communication between your PACS and K-PACS. Make sure to provide the DICOM details of K-PACS (AE title, Port, IP) in the DICOM settings of your PACS and the settings of your PACS in K-PACS. Ensure that the port is free and not blocked by any application, e.g. anti-virus programs. Then you can either query the PACS from K-PACS and retrieve studies or you can send studies from your PACS to K-PACS.

Feel free to try out iQ-VIEW, the professional DICOM viewer, which also comes with medical device certification (CE, FDA) and can therefore be used in diagnostic environments in contrast to K-PACS.

    Dear fukuyama kouichi

As stated before, we have disabled the download link to iQ-VIEW version 2.7.0. There is no direct way to download that software version anymore. We recommend using iQ-VIEW 2.8.0 instead. In case you need version 2.7.0 or need to discuss upgrade matters to version 2.8.0, please contact your local reseller or our sales team directly at sales[at]image-systems[dot]biz.

If the configuration is correct, you should be able to send images from your US device to the K-PACS station. If this is what you are trying to do and it doesn't work, you should check:

    - that the DICOM AE title, IP address and port of K-PACS are correctly added to the DICOM configuration of the US device
    - that the DICOM AE title, IP address and port of the US device are correctly added to the DICOM configuration of K-PACS
    - that no firewall or anti-virus program blocks the communication between the two
    - that the port on which the K-PACS server runs is available and not blocked by another application

Note, that it is not possible to send queries either from K-PACS to the US device or vice versa.

The easiest to ensure that you really create the overlay mapping for the correct SOP class would be to check the DICOM header of those images that you want to create a text overlay mapping for. Because, in some cases different SOP classes match the modality marker. To do that follow the steps below:

      - select one of the DX studies from the DR device from the study browser
      - load the study into the viewer
      - go to "Tools" in the menu bar and select "DICOM header dump" (or use shortcut [H])
      - in the "List view" check the value for attribute 0002,0002 MediaStorageSOPClassUID; this is the UID you will need

Here are the most obvious SOP class UIDs for your case:

      - 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.1.1 = DigitalXRayImageStorageForPresentation
      - 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.1.1.1 = DigitalXRayImageStorageForProcessing

When you have found the correct UID, simply open the OverlayMapping.script, copy everything stated for CR (from BEGIN to END) and exchange the SOPClassUID value.

    I hope that helps.

    Buona serata.
    Sabine

    Dear Jonathan

The freeware version K-PACS does not come with much documentation. We recommend you to try out the professional version iQ-VIEW, which is fully supported and provides extensive user documentation, including user manuals in English, German and Spanish as well as Administration Guides and DICOM Conformance Statements.

    Kind regards

    Dear radman44

We have disabled the iQ-VIEW 2.7.0 download link in the Download Center. That version had some issues with the licensing that were fixed in the new version 2.8.0, which can now be found in the Download Center.

We recommend that you use the new version, which comes with various bug fixes and new features. Find out what's new in 2.8.0: http://www.image-systems.biz/d…Bug-Fixes-INT-EN-002R.pdf.

However, if you are not eligible for upgrading an existing software installation - due to missing or expired service package, please contact your local reseller for assistance BEFORE upgrading.

    Kind regards

Larry, I can only suggest to check the Event Viewer of the affected system as well as the server logs to figure out why the application cannot be started successfully. The settings on the other servers might be different due to the upgrading from previous OS versions. You may also want to try to start K-PACS in a compatibility mode.

Please keep in mind that we cannot provide technical support for our freeware or for software that is installed on un-supported operating systems.

However, since you seem to be working in the veterinary field, you might be interested in checking out the veterinary version of our reading station - VET-VIEW. You can find details as well as an evaluation version for download on our website at http://www.vet-pacs.com/en/vet…ts/vet-pacs/vet-view.html. No server installations supported, though.

As workstation software it is unusual to install iQ-VIEW/K-PACS on a server operating system. It is quite possible that the issues you are experiencing are a result of the much stricter security measures on server systems. Check the security settings on your system or, better, install the software on a workstation computer.

What test application are you referring to?

iQ-VIEW/K-PACS can send queries to other DICOM stations, that support DICOM Query/Retrieve, and can retrieve images from there. But, as "magus" already stated, the IQSERVER/KPSERVER (DICOM server of iQ-VIEW/K-PACS) does not support DICOM Query/Retrieve as SCP. This means that you cannot successfully send a query to iQ-VIEW/K-PACS.

Go to http://www.image-systems.biz and select "Download Center" from the menu on the left side. Log in to the Download Center with your forum login data. Then go to "Free DICOM Tools". This is where you will also find K-PACS.

Keep in mind that K-PACS cannot be used for diagnostic purposes. For a full-fledged, professional workstation, we recommend you to try out iQ-VIEW instead, which you can also find in the Download Center. It comes with full medical certification and lots of more features. If you like K-PACS, you will like iQ-VIEW even more.

For all information about iQ-VIEW, including product brochure, video and download of evaluation version, check out http://image-systems.biz/en/pr…ion-software/iq-view.html.

You can use iQ-VIEW 2.8.0, which has been released a few weeks ago. In that version you can customize the print layouts up to a 7x7 layout. Thus, also 4x6 can be configured.

In case you are already working with an earlier version of iQ-VIEW, please contact your local reseller for upgrade instructions before performing the upgrade to the new software version as you will need a new license key.
