To import DICOM images from your hard disc, another computer in a network, (patient) CD/DVD or memory stick into the local imagebox, you need to select the “Filesystem” tab in the query panel.
On the left hand a Windows® Explorer window will be opened where you can select the folder of DICOM files you wish to import. You can either use the “+” markers or double-click onto a folder to navigate in the folder structure.
There are two ways to access the available functions:
Select the folder you wish to use in the tree structure. Then use the buttons in the upper part of the tree-view panel:
Press the “Refresh folder” button to refresh the content of the currently selected folder including all subfolders.
Press the “Scan folder” button to start scanning the selected folder.
Alternatively, a right-click onto a folder not only selects the folder but also opens a menu with the available options:
“Refresh folder” = to refresh the content of the currently selected folder including all subfolders
“Scan folder” = to start scanning the selected folder and its subfolders
After selecting “Scan folder”, the application will scan the marked folder and all subfolders for valid DICOM files and sort them into series and studies. It will display found studies in the “Filesystem” study table.
At this point, no images have been imported yet into iQ-VIEW. The actual import process will start when selecting one or several studies and/or series and loading them into the viewer. In case that the application is set to only retrieve images but not show them, the “View” button will turn into a “Retrieve” button and the selected studies/series are retrieved without displaying them in the viewer.
