Will I be able to setup KPACS or iQ-view to automatically export incoming files to a local drive?

    No, that is not possible.

If you clarify your intention or desired workflow we might find another option to resolve your issue.

    These are long known issues.

3011: Cannot burn portable media despite sufficient available memory on media

1166: problems reading in the medium in medium creator with consequences

The links should help you understand the issue and show how to handle it.

The behavior will be fixed in the upcoming iQ-VIEW 3.0. But that will take some months.

Allthough an upgrade to 2.8 is not fixing your problem, it is nevertheless recommended and mandatory if you ever want to use a 64 Bit Windows operating system.

You should consider contacting your vendor to get immediate and proper support.

So you see studies in the local database but none of them show up in the viewer?
Make sure you have "Automatic loading" checked in the Viewer menu under Additional settings (wich should be active by default).

Another option is to check your image box and database paths (Local settings: Server Admin Tool). They should be equal by default. If your images are not located where the database expects them, they cannot be shown in the viewer. Try to set them both again to make sure this is not the source of your problem.

Take a look at the "local settings" in K-PACS. Open the "Server Admin Tool" and make sure the Path to your image box is set correctly. Use a Backslash "\" as path delimiter (C:\KPacs\Imagebox\), stop and restart the server.

To de authorize the license, does it have to be reinstalled with the same version that was on there?

Yes, you need the same iQ-VIEW version since they have different licenses.

When you install the previously running iQ-VIEW version, you should see that the license is still valid and active inside iQ-VIEW.

I don't have the old install file, I inherited this project... The new computer was installed with the latest version from the downloads here.

You can find older versions in the download center as well. Even if your version is not listed, we can get that for you.

But, as this is a serious license issue (money involved) I suggest you contact your vendor to get in touch about this issue. We try to give you technical support here whenever we can but a paying customer usually handles license issues and support through his vendor directly, which usually has the proper information right at hand or will get in contact with IMAGE Information Systems.

Can you give us steps to reproduce this issue? If we can reproduce it, we are always looking forward to fix this for the next version.

    Useful information are:
    - for what kind of studies is this error occurring? e.g. MR with 6 series.
    - what display configuration have you set up in iQ-VIEW (Viewer > Additional Settings > Display setup)? dual/ single
    - what are you doing precisely? e.g. opening an MR study with 6 series in the viewer, setting tiling to 2x2, dragging series 2 into the bottom left view, double clicking the upper left view etc. until the unexpected behavior actually occurs

Could you explain more precisely what you did? You uninstalled iQ-VIEW and then replaced the operating system?

Anyways, if your old Windows, where iQ-VIEW was installed, is still able to run, you can simply re-install iQ-VIEW. Uninstalling does not invalidate the license. Then you can reset the license from within iQ-VIEW.

    Hello Steve,

you are probably talking about the following problem:

3011: Cannot burn portable media despite sufficient available memory on media
1166: problems reading in the medium in medium creator with consequences

Let me quote from the bug reports.

We did a major overhaul of the burn process in upcoming version iQ-VIEW 3.0.

I hope the explanation for your observed behavior will improve your experience with K-PACS nevertheless.

If you want to export your studies with a DICOMDIR choose option 3 (export to medium/ burn). In the burn dialog you've got 3 options to export your data. The rightmost button at the bottom is for burning cds/ dvds. To the left you find a "Create project" button. The third one is for sending the data to iQ-ROBOT.

If you want to export to your hard drive, go for the "Create project" option. A folder will be created with a corresponding DICOMDIR and all your data. The location of your projects is defined by the project folder edit control in the settings group box. Here you can edit the path manually or open up a directory selector. This project creation option is intended for putting projects on usb sticks or burn them with a locally installed burn application.

I understand your confusion about the "copy to directory" functionality on the export button. At the moment it is intended to open up the folder in your local database so you can copy the data manually. But we have already changed that behavior in the next iQ-VIEW version. The copy to directory menu item will then open a target directory selector.

You should contact your vendor directly in this case to get the proper support you need (should be faster than through this forum). If he can't help you, usually he will get in contact with our support team.

It's kind of hard to figure out your problem.

Assuming you are using iQ-LITE 2.8.0, you will see a list of available studies in the study table after starting the application. You can expand the studies to see how many series are contained. You can expand the series to see how many images they contain.

Everything you have listed here can be loaded into the viewer by either doubleclicking studies or selecting studies and clicking the View button.

The viewer shows all studies in tabs and all corresponding series in a preview frame on top beneath the main menu.

If you are expecting more images here than displayed, 1. there are no more images and everything works as expected or 2. maybe the DICOMDIR on the disc does not list all images that your CD contains.
In case of number 2: try to copy the disc content into a harddisc folder and delete the DICOMDIR. Without DICOMDIR iQ-LITE will scan it's root folder for files and not rely upon the DICOMDIR information.

When you click the user manual button, the user manual (i.e. MANUAL.PDF on your disc) should open in case you have a PDF reader installed.
