sounds strange, I have not received any notifications about install/update failures with V0.9.4b yet.
But anyway, what you can do is: doubleclick the kpinstall.exe (rar compressed container file), accept the license agreement and cancel the installer after all files are decompressed. Copy the k-pacs.exe file to your k-pacs directory manually.
Hope this helps, but I still don't know what's wrong.

I think you are talking about when the file decompresses it becomes a install file that does not say kpinstall. Once you run the instyall the temp files and all rest go away. Install it on your desktop and watch.

yes, this is the only imaginable possibility why these files will be deleted after installation. The installer will clean up the directory where it is located and will delete neccessary files if it is located in the K-PACS folder.
