Move Complete MAG

  • Hello,

is there a possible way to move a complete mag to another. MAG0 is on SSD and i want to move the Complete MAG (1Year) to a normal HDD (MAG17). I tried dgate.exe --moveseriestodevice:MAG17,MAG0 and nothing happend. When i try

    dgate64.exe -v -au

    dgate64.exe -v -as30000000,0 > c:\tmp\SelectData.log

    dgate64.exe -v -amMAG0.Archiving,MAG17 > c:\tmp\MoveData.log

    dgate64.exe -v -au

only 2GB where moved to MAG17 and not 30 GB. Size of MAG0 is 2TB.

  • Hi,

2 GB may be a practical limit (I think a move is limited to 10000 patients at a time, calculations are good up to 2^31 Kb). You can of course repeat the action to copy more.

Is it true that 10000 patients were copied?

    Marcel

  • Hi Marcel,

the last time i have started the move with:

    dgate64.exe -v -as30000000,0 > c:\tmp\SelectData.log

    dgate64.exe -v -amMAG0.Archiving,MAG17 > c:\tmp\MoveData.log

850MB where moved to MAG17, after i run this command again, i moved 194MB in 30 Minutes

  • Hi,

this particular log shows nothing to do. dgate -asN,M selects up to 10.000 patients on MAGM in order of entry into conquest to the limit passed, i.e., max N KB storage.

The code of -as is in line 3042 of device.cpp:

It (line 3055) lists all patients on MAG0.Archiving (the ,0 you passed)

    If any --> stop

Then (line 3066) it lists all patients that have one or more images on MAG0 (the ,0 you passed) on order of age. This list also has a max of 10.000.

Then (line 3075) its sets the storage from MAG0 to MAG0.Archiving

It (line 3091) then computes the total size.

If 0 --> stop (nothing to do)

    And that is it.

Is their still data on MAG0?

dgate -am (line 3482) by the way copies the data, compares it, changes the MAG0.Archiving flag and then deletes the source data.

    Marcel

  • Hi,

    thank you for your explanation.

last to questions: i'm running 1.5.0a with mysqldb, is it safe to replace dgate64.exe/dgate.exe and conquestdicomserver.exe with the new version of 1.5.0b in the same folder without regeneration of the database (about 17tb on images).

    usage of --selectseriestomove:

    dgate64.exe --selectseriestomove:MAG0,Age(in Days?),KB --selectseriestomove:MAG0,180,300000 and then --moveseriestodevice:MAG17,MAG0 or MAG0.Archchiving?

thank you for your great support

    Kind regards Christoph

  • Hi,

you can safely replace dgate64.exe and conquestdicomserver.exe without regeneration, just do not replace any other files.

It is preferable to use the -as -am interface from a batch file as they are blocking.

The dgate64.exe --selectseriestomove: command starts the process in the server. The starting exe will time out after 5 minutes and return, while the (slow) process continues in the server. So you have to manually check that it is done before you continue.

The syntax for moving up to 30GB on MAG0 older than one year to MAG17 is:

    dgate64.exe --selectseriestomove:MAG0,365,30000000

    dgate64.exe --moveseriestodevice:MAG17,MAG0.Archiving

The advantage of the latter interface is that it does not move whole patients, so that it is easier to exactly move the requested amount.

    Marcel

  • Hi, Marcel

In this sample what MAG0.Archiving means?
