File .v2 and .dcm

Hello,
I just noticed that on a pacs conquest server the DICOM files were logged with .v2 extension and on another server conquest the files have as extension .dcm
Does anyone know the reason?
The first server is a 1.4.17d the second I have version 1.4.19

Hi,

.v2 does not carry a DICOM part10 header and supports an internal compression scheme (n2). You do need conquest to read it. Nowadays .dcm is the default, but you can still select either.

Change filenamesyntax, 8 is a good option. See manual.
