Dicom Server 1.4.19beta3b release windows/linux

Hi,

this is the first official unified windows/Linux release as beta. It can be downloaded here:

Please provide feedback. I intend to make this the final 1.4.19 release with minimal changes.

Here bug reports for 1.4.19beta3b and 1.4.19 prerelease are collected.

Stability report: very good, ready for final release

These are leftover bugs:
1) add LittleEndianExplicit to GUI connecting to dgate. Futured
2) Improve safety of sqlite by regular flushing. Futures
3) JpegLS crash on image where highest value exceeds BitsStored; partly fixed in 1.4.19beta3. Full fix in 1.4.19
4) crash Jpeg2000 compression on Mirada state file with multiframe binary data. Fixed in 1.4.19
5) crash of JpegLS on some images with very bright isolated pixels. Fixed in 1.4.19
6) Check these changes: 20140608 mvh Added BYTE PCid to CStoreRSP::Write; This change is under review: pcid does not seem to get the right value
7) brainix sample data fails to load from zip; maybe because of French folder names
8 ) sql server and access database ODBC install only work for 32 bits of dgate (e.g. disable 64 bits or create ODBC entry by hand)
9) document install of newweb (copy newweb folder as is into xampp\cgi-bin); In 1.4.19. add auto install - futured
10) install second server when service of first runs gives trouble - do an echo on the install button and fail if found - futured
11) last line of dicom.ini does not read if no CR (IndexDBF = 50) - futured
12) syntax check button cannot be used in large dbaseiii servers as it starts a new server exe which takes too long. In 1.4.19 dbaseIII in different mode.
13) Publish about Docker release of Lance
14) gui freeze on window 10 - not reproduced so far
15) GUI fails to run as user after install as service on server2012; does run as admin - futured

These bug warranted the fix release 1.4.19beta3a:

16) Exportconverters did not trigger; fix lost in 1.4.19beta3; reapplied in 1.4.19beta3a.
17) Query filtering failed: introduced in 1.4.19beta3; fixed in 1.4.19beta3a.

These bug warranted the fix release 1.4.19beta3b:

18) optional extensions for browser calculates level incorrectly. In 1.4.19beta3b
19) Applied windowwidth for WADO bitmap generation is interpreted at half the passed value. In 1.4.19beta3b

Newly found bugs and limitations will be listed below:

21) Update manual of web interface. In 1.4.19

23) Implement wadoviewerhelp - futured
24) Implement web interface for batch anonymisation - futured
25) overlapvirtualget=0 breaks the virtual server operation (hardw) - futured
26) Allow StudyRootquery in find missing patient in GUI; In 1.4.19
27) debuglog interferes with progressbar in gui; Disabled progress then in 1.4.19
28 ) GUI database viewer allows edit eg + patient then crashes gui, should be blocked; Fixed in 1.4.19
29) Auto update UIDmods table on install new version; works on old database in 1.4.19; and verify database button updates in 1.4.19

35) superfluous linux/dgate.dic in release. Fixed in 1.4.19
36) weasis starter has 127.0.0.1 hardcoded, must be %serveraddress%
37) wish: OperatorConsole.printf ("*** multiplex: connection terminated [%s]\n", CallingApTitle);
38 ) Remove ADO controls from gui as no longer used; helps to run under Wine. In 1.4.19
39) populate filename with new ID just entered for export anonymize to zip / patient for normal export? In 1.4.19
40) Add retry after delay of 5s in Linux import monitor# In 1.4.19
41) Add newuids stage to manual. In 1.4.19
42) new 1.4.19 install gives 3 uidmods errors and then updates the database. Fixed in 1.4.19
43) loadhl7 does not like ' in field, replace it by _ (manny). In 1.4.19
44) js etc incorrect listed as jpeg2000 in manual. Fixed in 1.4.19
45) old GUI browser (1.4.19beta) does not work with new dgate (1.4.19) - by design will not fix, 1.4.17 releases do work
46) c-move response cannot convey >65536 images, should max numbers at 65535 - futured

Forwarding still seems to be broken - I just gave it a try and neither drag'n drop did work nor forwarding images from a DICOM source

I used

ExportConverter0 = nop %f

and that worked. Are you sure you updated dgate to the 1.4.19beta4 version. It should report that on startup.

I just did some more testing in my production environment and I did get an error "restarted dead server after error 7" when I was transfering a large study of 1400 images - but it always crashed below 100 images during sending.

This help me to know when a bug is introduced. Not many use n2 still so maybe the issue is there. There were many changes in the compression code.

OT: I think N2/NKI is the perfect compression as it provides a compression that is actually fast (because u said it is threaded) compared to JPEG.
