KPACS won't run after install on 64bit Win Server2008 R2

  • Hi. has anyone seen the following problem? KP runs fine on PCs i have tried, but after a successful installed on a 64bit server2008 R2 machine, with all latest updates applied, KPACS does not work from the getgo....



    it looks like the KPACS service did not install but no warnings or errors where encountered during install.

    could someone pls advise? KPACS is a great tool for admin testing. it should work on this server i would have thought?

  • K-PACS was never intended to run on Windows Server editions. In addition, it also wasn't developed for 64 bit machines.


    There are very probably permission issues that prevent the application from starting, especially since on servers user permissions are handled even stricter than on Windows OS for client systems. Also your anti-virus protection may prevent K-PACS from starting.


    You may try to set specific user permissions for the K-PACS installation folder and to add an exception for K-PACS and its server component in your anti-virus program. Otherwise, use K-PACS on a supported OS instead.
